I didn’t know anything about the movie or the book – my friends invited me
Christmas Eve at My Home Written by Stanley William Zabka and Donald Upton Performed by Eddie Fisher (1951 recording). An absorbing film about the intellectual, emotional, philosophical and spiritual maturation and change of an American graduate student at Oxford.
like moments of Carolyn’s introspection
Great Oxford scene, captivating leads Rose Reid and Ruari O’Wonderful to see supporting British actors like Phyllis Logan, Simon Callow and Ed Stoppard. I think the film could have benefited from short scenes admiring the beauty of Anglican churches, as well as choral music.
Surprised by Oxford deserves a regular theatrical run and more/more targeted advertising
The film seems to be classified as a Christian film, but we didn’t feel it was overly religious – in fact, the film deals with universal themes of community, connection and purpose. We are regular moviegoers – and are puzzled that this movie had no commercials and was apparently only shown for two days.
